Are Emotions Contagious?

Have you ever noticed how your emotions are effected by those around you? It seems if you are around people who are in bad moods, it tends to put you in a bad mood also. Just the same, if the people around you are in good moods, then things seem to be good for you also. It does seem that negative emotions are more contagious than positive ones. I wonder why that it? Ever notice how it's easier to be in a bad, or negative mood, than being in a good mood. Is it just human nature to accept the negative things in the world. A good example is how people tend to "blow off" a compliment, but tell them something negative about them and they will take it to heart.

that is sooooo true. there are certain people in my life, and oddly enough in the same "pedigree"... that when they are in a bad mood...they don't even have to speak...but if there is one person, or ten people within ten feet from this person...the tension is amazing. NOBODY even wants to speak. in fact, people want to leave....it is very odd. even if that mood has nothing to do with "you"...the atmosphere is as thick as the densest fog!and just cuts through your soul, making you wonder what did I do...how can i change this. and most of the time..it isn't your problem. amazing. and i hate it. but ya know...i think that is one of the reasons that I myself avoid people, because i am so often depressed, and i don't want that to affect other people in a negative way. but yes sir... good observation. and true.
