Friends

Friend: one who is known, liked, trusted, etc.; an ally or supporter.

The subject of friends came up so here we go. I believe that when it comes to friends there are different levels just as there is with respect. Most everyone you meet you will be friendly with, which is about the same as common courtesy. Then there are those that you meet and after a little while you become friends with, by which I mean you will talk to them when you see them and you will go out of your way for them more so than anyone else. Then you have the "true friend", this is some one that you have gotten some kind of connection with, a closeness. True friends are the ones that seem to be closer to you than most of your family, they know what you like and dislike, they can tell just by the way you act or talk if you are in a good or bad mood.
Friendship, respect and trust are all tied together, for you cannot have one without the others. How could you be friends with someone you didn't trust or respect or how could you not trust a friend that you respect.
Unfortunately the road of life is constantly changing and so will friends. Some one your are friends with today may seem like a stranger to you in a few years down the road. Even though "true friends" can change, their memories will stay with you and you will be changed by the friendship that you had with them. Now some "true friends" will always be there regardless of what life throws at you.
As you know I will usually write about the lastest thing that my mind comes across, so I have to give the credit of this blog to Katrina, since it was by reading her blog on friendship that got me on this subject today. So to Katrina, Thank You....

Thank you too for your comment(s) and advice.

Friends spice up one's life. If it were not for friends, we would not learn the vastness and possibilties of things we could learn and experience. Sometimes they go because they need to move on, sometimes they stay but never really grow with you. You're right, there's so many levels in friendship and sometimes out of neglect the ones that mean so much to you may one day just be someone we could easily forget.

Sometimes when I look at my friendships, I am reminded of the "Sims" game "friendship meter", the less you talk and get to hang out, the less they seem to matter to the sim... Iono.. the interplay of lives.. so complicated, and yet so beautiful..
