Good Times....

Last night five of us got together at Bob-O's house and had a Quake 111 party. I arrived at around 9:00pm and left at around 1:00am, great times. We were all basically shoulder to shoulder, so as you could guess there was some trash talking going on. I didn't fair too well, once I even finished a game in the negative numbers.
But before it was over I got some good kills in on Bob-O so it was all good, ha ha. And also before the night was over I heard the famous Bob-O line, "anyone can win the game when they cheat like that, you mother****ers." The Quake playing was good but for about the last hour or so we just sat out on his front porch and bullshited and that as Bob-O would also say is, "good times, good times"...........

What are some people thinking????

The last few days at work have been busy, real busy. Last night I was finally able to sit down around 8:00pm and take 15 minutes to eat some dinner, then it was right back at it and I didn't get back to the office until 9:48pm, which I get off at 10:00pm, a long day with a lot of report writing.
We were so busy that I didn't even make it to court for a case that I had been involved in around three weeks ago. Just to summarize I received a call that I needed to go to a home in which a female had called and stated that she didn't want to take care of her grandson anymore and that we needed to come get him. I get to the residence and the grandmother can't find the boy, so we start looking for him and when we spot him in the garage he ran and hid from us. We were able to talk him out and ask him why he had run and he basically told us that his grandmother had told him she was calling us to take him away because she didn't want him anymore., keep in mind the child was around eight years old. To make a long story short the child was taken by DHS and placed into a foster home. I just couldn't imagine what kind of uncaring it would take to give up a child of the family and not be bothered to see them leave.
You would have to physically take my children from me, and unless I was dead you'd be dealing with me until I got them back, and yet the women I dealt with was adamant that she was not going to raise this child and that the child needed to go.
Yesterday the child was in court and hopefully the child will find a nice family that will show some love and caring and give the child some direction in life.........

Moving Forwards......

Yesterday I finally benched 225lbs on flat bench. Then I was able to bench 230lbs on decline bench. It took a while and I was beginning to think I had come to a stop in the weights.

Over the last few weeks I have been talking with my old Head Instructor from my TaeKwonDo school and discussing getting back into it. Last week I was able to contact one of the 5th Degrees in the organization I was affiliated with and he stated he would help me get back into the routine, which is great news. So for now I've been slowly trying to stretch back out, I've even been on the stretching machine some, and working on my kicks and blocks. August 19th I have taken a day off work to go to a tournament and observe and get to meet up with some of the old Instructors. I know it'll take a while to get back to where I was when I left it 4 years ago, but hey if I can do it once......

While we were on vacation my wife spent the whole week trying to find a centerpiece for the living room coffee table. She ended up finding the bowl the last day we were in Branson and then found the candlesticks at Jonesboro the day after we got home....

I took this picture inside Bass Pro shop at Branson Landing. At the bottom of the pictures if a giant aquarium and also the flock of ducks continues on above your head...

This is a picture of my two daughters, if you notice my youngest one was not happy at the time. The fountain they are sitting in front is in the square of the Branson Landing mall. There was also a giant fountian on the river that runs along side of the mall, but it was being repaired so no picture.......

Here's a different shot of the museum, from the other side you'd see the building part, also you enter just behind the iceberg.....

This is a picture of the outside of the Titanic museum, it worth the trip to see if you are intersted in that sort of thing...

I took this picture while at Branson Landing, it's a mall at downtown Branson. They are still doing a lot of construction, but it's huge...

Here's a bridge that was across from the strip mall in Branson...

This is a picture ofmy Family and I that we got at the Titanic museum. The background is a replica of the grand stairway, but the picture was taken in front of a green screen and posted onto the picture. In the museum you do get to walk on the stairway, it's cool....

Back to Training....

I've got a lot going on right now. I sent an e-mail to one of my old instructors in Tae Kwon Do asking for advise on starting back up with my training and he replied back and ask if I could call him since we have much to discuss. It'll be cool to get to speak with him again. I've been trying to get stretched out more lately, even been on the stretching machine, ouch. Before I quit training I could reach around 170+ degrees with my legs, now I'm more around 120 degrees, long way to go. My legs have been tired and sore, but in the long run it'll be worth it.

This week end we have a small training day scheduled. I believe we'll be working on building entries. Should be fun, hot but fun.

Last off, I for some reason can't post my vacation pictures in a post, so I guess I'll have to post them one at a time so bear with me........

Problems....

For some reason I'm having trouble uploading pictures from my vacation, so bear with me and maybe I'll be able to get some posted before long.
Yesterday it was back to the gym, it went alright I was able to bench press 205lbs but had to have help when I tried for 225lbs. Oh well, guess I'll have to keep at it. By the time we left my arms were stiff. I was afraid they were going to be sore today but so far so good.
This morning I was up before 7:00am and on the roof of my shed trying to get some shingling done before it got hot, it didn't take long. I believe the highs are suppose to be near 100 today, yesterday I saw the bank thermometer was at 98 degrees. I'll go into the gym at 2:00pm today and then late tonight maybe I can do some more work on the shed when it cools off a little.
I was able to get my truck fixed, again, while I was on vacation. This time it was the starter, no big deal only $250.00 to fix. Good thing it's paid for.
I noticed that this is my 99th post so I guess I'll have to think for a while on my 100th and post something a little more interesting, we'll see.........

Vacation

Well I'm back from vacation. It was nice to get away for a while, but it was also nice to get back home. First off it rained every day that we were in Branson. We went to White Water on Monday and got rained out so I told my youngest daughter that we would spend more time there on Wednesday, boy did I pay for that statement. We went shopping, I believe everyday, I didn't know you could spend so much time looking in one store, especially when you were just in it the day before.
We got to go to the Titanic museum, it was good, crowded but good. They have built a replica of the grand staircase you get to walk through. Also there were many things inside that I didn't remember seeing when I went to the exhibit in Memphis, TN. No cameras were allowed inside but we were able to buy a picture of the family standing in front of the grand staircase, maybe I'll post it later along with some more pictures.
While on vacation we ate at Steak N Shake three times, which I could have ate there everyday.
One Wednesday we woke up to, you guessed it, rain. Luckily it quit and the clouds moved out before the water park opened. So we were at the gates when they opened at 10:00am and we didn't leave until 6:30pm. We had a great time, if only I would have remembered the sun screen. The top of my head blistered.

Once we got home my daughters left with their grandpa to go to Wisconsin to stay two weeks with family. It's been awful quite around here, I miss them.

Like I said I'll try to post some pictures later, but for now I'm headed to the gym, I've got some catching up to do.......

Missed Picture...

Here is a picture I missed while posting yesterday, notice that Bob-O is the one on the run. While playing Quake it seems that everyone has their turn when they are the one running......

Fragging Pictures (The Truth)....

Here are some of the pictures I took while playing Quake 111 with Bob-O:

The above is Bob-O (Boo Boo, it's a whole other story) stricking a poise.....

Here's a picture of where Bob-O was, notice the score...

Here's a good one, even though I'm about to be hit.....

Here's another one of where Bob-O was....

This is one of Bob-O spawning after being killed, once again notice the score....

Here's the final score, so there you go the truth is out........

Two Days Left....

Luckily I only have two days left until I go on vacation. Yesterday I spent the day working on things around the house trying to get ready to leave. Then when I went into town my truck, which just came out of the shop not too long ago, broke down again. It's acting the same as it was when I took it into the shop. The worst thing was that our new car was in the shop yesterday having the airbags looked at, so neither my wife or I had a running vehicle in town so we had to borrow a friend's vehicle to get home. Then last night we went back into town and was able to get my truck started and get it home. So I guess it's back to the shop for the truck. We were able to pick up the new car from the shop last night also, but they said they would have to order a part and that it would be in some time next week, so I guess while we're on vacation we'll have to listen to the annoying ding every once and a while telling us that something is wrong with the airbag system.

I did find some time to shingle on the roof of my shed last night and then once it got dark we set off some fireworks.

I will try to get my Quake 111 pictures posted soon, I know Bob-O is looking forward to seeing them, haha. I will give him credit though, he did teach me how to play Quake and does beat me from time to time. Unfortantely I'm still having a hard time beating him when it comes to "capture the flag", but his time is coming at that also. Most people that have read these last post relating to Quake probably think Bob-O and I have it out for one another, but it's all in good sport, sometimes........

Here's a self-potrait of the character I use in the game, it's usually the last thing Bob-O sees before he's "fragged".

Here is a Quake 111 picture I took of a single player game. It's not Bob-O, but that's what he'll look like next time we play, hahaha.........

Misleading Pictures.....

Bob-O has posted some pictures on his blog, Confessions of a Slacker, of the two of us playing Quake 111. What he doesn't tell about the pictures is that I was not fully playing, I was trying to take screenshots and yes I lost the first game. But the pictures I have show a different side, I won the second game 20 to 10. I haven't been able to download my pictures yet, but they are coming, the truth will be shown.

Yesterday I was able to make it to the gym for a little while. On leg press I was able to press 720lbs, a new high. Worked on the legs mainly since I had to leave after an hour and 15 minutes, my wife was nice enough to go by and wait on me while I worked out so I didn't want to stay much longer and make her wait.

Last night we did the usual and had a cook out with the family, went swiming and then went into town and watched the fireworks. About half-way through I thought about my camera which I left at home, so no pictures to post.

This morning I've just been hanging out. I downloaded Mozilla Firefox this morning and have been playing with it ever since. (Did you hear that Bob-O, I did download it.)

I'll try to get the real Quake 111 pictures posted yet this week since I'll be leaving Saturday on vacation..........

Music.....

"Bob-O" helped me out by putting music on my blog, which I've been trying to do for quite some time with out any luck. The song is Serenity by Godsmack and is off their album Faceless. Let me know what you think. I'd appreciate the feedback.
Also you might have noticed I've added a picture along the side, another of "Bob-O's" doings. But who knows if he keeps showing me things maybe some time I'll be able to figure some of this stuff out.......

I'm Sore Today....

Well yesterday at the gym we decided that after our regular work out we would do some weighted squats and then finish with some windmills with the kettlebells. The squats went fine, as did the windmill, but we used the 54 pound kettlebell while doing the windmills and did two sets of 10 reps with each arm and then a set of 8 with each arm followed by a set of 6 with each arm. At the time I was feeling pretty good and I was even able place my palms flat on the floor.
Today when I woke up and went to get out of bed it was a different story. It started out as just a little stiffness in my sides and shoulders. After an hour of grocery shopping with my wife it became sore and was painful to walk around the store. Finally I believe I have worked most of the stiffness out and maybe tonight at work it'll be alright.

While doing the windmills yesterday I made the comment "this is going to hurt tomorrow", little did I know I was psychic........
